Recipe for Swirled banitsa with a photo

SWIRLED BANITSA

PRODUCTS

1. Eggs - 5 eggs
2. White cow’s cheese - 200 grams
3. Melted cow's butter - 1 packet (125 grams)
4. Bulgarian yogurt (2% fat) - 500 grams. (1 cup)
5. Phyllo pastry leaves (tissue-thin sheets of dough) - 1 package of 500 grams
6. Sodium bicarbonate - 1/2 teaspoon
7. Mineral water - 1 coffee cup (70 ml)
8. White flour - 3 tablespoons

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Everything from item 1 to item 4 is stirred in a bowl as the sodium bicarbonate is put in the yoghurt beforehand. Flour is dissolved in the water and added to the mixture. With the slurry thus obtained spread each phyllo pastry leave folded in two, then swirl them into a greased tray and the remaining mixture is poured over the top. Bake 40 minutes at 180OC.
